June 10, 2009: 4 Months!

Our little baby boy is 4 months old (17 weeks)..and 6 ½ weeks adjusted age. Cohen’s latest weight is 9lbs 13oz, so he has more than tripled his birth weight! He is finally fitting nicely into his newborn size clothes . His alert periods are longer every day and he is starting to look and visually interact with some of his toys. He is back to getting fortified milk as to get him to put on weight more quickly than a normal breastfed baby. When he reaches 12lbs 15oz, we will re-evaluate the need for the fortification as he will be 10 pounds over his birth weight. Daycare is working out perfectly and his teachers are really working on some of the suggestions the physical therapist had to help his development. We are hopeful that with the special attention and special appointments, Cohen will grow to be a thriving little boy.
