May 20, 2009: Weight Check

Cohen had a weight check today and he is 8lbs 14oz! He is growing and gaining well. He is still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers, though J We are having so much fun with two little boys at home. Carter can say “brother” really well, but “Cohen” is still coming out as “Doe” or “Donan

Our sleeping habits are still a struggle. We are both in summer school so we will be talking to the doctor about taking the steps to get that apnea monitor, even if it means spending two nights in our local hospital.

Cohen’s reflux has taken a turn for the worse. Instead of just normal reflux spit up, he has been vomiting most of his feeds over the last few days. His doctor has recommended he try Reglan. If you remember, Reglan was the other drug that Cohen was on in the NICU but was taken off of it because the FDA “black boxed” the use of it in neonates. I explained this to the nurse and she was going to have the doctor research whether or not it’s okay in infants. In my mom’s professional opinion, it should be just fine for Cohen. Hopefully the doctor will agree and prescribe it to him…I can’t tell you the difference that one drug makes. He is much more comfortable when he is on it….and when’s Cohen’s happy we are all happy!

In other news, we have officially moved! Due to the cost of daycare we had to move from our townhouse to married student housing. It’s quite the size change, but it is right on campus and a short walk to daycare and our classes. (Moving is the reason I haven’t updated in awhile…)
