Seriously, the whole medical profession in this small hospital baffles me! The respiratory therapist came in and took Cohen off the continuous O2 monitor and said periodic monitoring would be sufficient. He did, however, leave the blow by oxygen because “clearly, based on his levels he still needs it.” Um, then why are you taking him off the monitor??? Ugh, at least this makes Cohen cord free so I won’t have to worry about him getting tangled in everything.
Also, the nurse tried to give Cohen his dose of oral antibiotic and no sooner did he choke the last squirt down, the entire dose and about 2 hour old soy formula came right back out. It went everywhere. Ick. So, now the nurse is calling the doctor to see if she should try it again or just go ahead with the IV.
As I sit here and watch in disgust at the relationship between Jake and Vienna (on the bachelor) with sincere hope he chooses Tenley, Cohen is sleeping soundly and is really, this time, tucked in for the night.
