April 10, 2009: Eye Doctor

Cohen had a follow up visit with Dr. Nye, the eye doctor to check on his ROP. After waiting for an hour (to dilate his eyes), we were informed that Cohen ‘s eyes have fully vascularized!! This means his ROP has resolved itself and he will not need further treatment for ROP. He will have an eye appointment when he turns 1 to check to see if he is near or far sighted.

After Cohen’s appointment we stopped by the NICU to see if we could catch the other doctor and say thank you and also drop off some preemie clothes that Cohen has outgrown. Dr. B was there and he still remembered us! (He was the one who researched Cohen’s name….) He was very happy to see us as he was quite upset that we were discharged a day early because he wanted to be the doctor who discharged us :) We also sent 2 edible arrangements to the unit as a thank you to the nurses(day and night) as we couldn’t thank them all in person.
