We are so thankful that Cohen was home in time for Easter. This is two Easter’s in a row that we were unsure if our baby would be out of the hospital in time. Last year, Carter was in the hospital with meningitis and was discharged the day before Easter.

Because we were in Spokane for Cohen’s eye appointment, we continued on to Sandpoint for Easter with John’s family. Our niece Lohla was staying with Papa Doug and Mema so it was a house full of grandkids! Lohla is 4 months older than Carter and the two of them had a wonderful time playing together. They were very sweet and played very well together and we all had a great time watching them play.

We went to church on Easter and it was a very eye opening experience. It was the first time that strangers were able to see Cohen and boy did we get some weird responses. The typical confrontation went like this Them: “ohh, a brand new baby! How old?” Me: Um, 2 months Them:”Oh huh, really? Wow.” Me: Well he was 11 weeks early Them: “Oh, I see” There was the occasional variation, like one lady that demanded to know if I was breastfeeding as breastfeeding would help my baby grow. Yes. And Duh. I guess this is something I will just have to get used to for the next few months

After church, Carter and Cohen opened their Easter baskets at Uncle Doug’s house. Carter loved opening all of his eggs and eating the jelly beans. Carter also helped Cohen by opening his eggs and taking all of the socks (that were in the eggs) and dropping them on to Cohen who was sitting in his car seat.

We had a great family weekend!
