Cohen was discharged from Gritman yesterday evening. With the consent of his doctor, we began our road trip to San Francisco this morning. 5 boxes of clothes have already shipped to San Fran, and all that was left were a few suitcases, strollers, and the boys. Strollers...yeah, that means 3!. We brought both bugaboos (due to the ease of getting on and off street cars and our trip to disneyland) and the bumbleride double (so that john can take both boys out by himself). We loaded the boys up (Cohen facing forward now!), filled the cooler, and began our trek. The goal for today was to reach Seaside, OR.
We stopped in Yakima, WA and met up with Grandma Cindy and Popi for lunch. Before we got into the restaurant, Carter threw up. John and I assumed that it was because he had been watching Cars (the movie) or else it was the tinted window cling. After a change of clothes and some sprite, he seemed to be feeling better.
Grandma Cindy is having surgery this week, so it was nice to see her and give her our loves before we left for the summer. (Which she isn't too happy about) Carter absolutely adores Grandma and Popi, and he was a little concerned as to why he wasn't going with them in their "big white truck." In fact, he spent the first 45 minutes of our second half talking about going to their house. Thankfully, both boys passed out for the majority of the second half of today's trip.
Carter woke up when we reached Longview, WA...and proceeded to throw up. We pulled over and changed him again. It looks like a stomach bug has taken up residence in our two year old! Ugh! He fell asleep after that, but by the time we rolled into Seaside, OR, he was throwing up again.
Not a fun way to start a road trip! Hopefully he feels better soon, and hopefully this is just a 24-hour bug!!
