May 28, 2010: Welcome to CALIFORNIA!

We made it to California!! After spending the night in a sketchy place called Crescent City, we continued our journey to the Bay. First stop was in Eureka, CA to visit the Trees of Mystery. John remembers going here when he was little, so it was a fun memory for him to revisit. Carter was IN LOVE with the gondola ride through the trees. He was so excited to be “flying.” Both boys were in awe with how big some of the trees were. All in all it was a great “tree nerd” adventure for John and his mini-me’s :)

We had all intentions of stopping in a town called “Hawkins Bar” but both Carter and Cohen were on the edge of complete melt downs when we started driving. Instead we popped in a movie, grabbed some lunch, and headed south hoping to make it to San Fran today!
Diaper change and pit stop forced us to ditch our Eureka to San Fran in one stretch plans, but we did have fun checking out a little town called Windsor. John and I reloaded with Starbucks and the boys got some energy out climbing on the huge play structures.

Finally, at around 6pm, we rolled in to San Francisco! We were all exhausted but excited to see Nama.
